Jackie, this is Todd. I'm sitting here in my office and just reflecting on how I got here. When I got out of prison, I had zero job skills. Now, I'm a general contractor/maintenance manager for a property management company that has 200 houses to manage. I have several tiers of men who have helped me get here. That 1st tier was my dad, Larry Osborne, David Etheredge, and Gene. They taught me so many things dealing with job skills and life in general. They took the time to hone the skills that God gave me that I couldn't see. Then I sat back and saw how others lived their lives. Both Bill's, Johnny, and a lot of the guys in Tres Dias. The wise men I met at church, Leo and Mike. They taught me to get out of the driver's seat and let God handle the driving. These men took time to teach and guide me to be something bigger than myself in this world. Gene was right there from day 1 in the shop, helping me learn valuable skills, not just shop skills but life skills. I loved hearing his stories and all his adventures. He will be truly missed, but we will all see him again. I like to think that when he crossed into heaven, my dad was there and told him about some monster sized Elk that he saw when he was hiking the beautiful mountains of heaven. And Gene saying, let's go take a look at them.😁
My thoughts and prayers are with you and the rest of your family.

We are so sorry to hear of Gene’s passing. Gene and Jackie were sweet encouragers to us when they attended our church in Fort Worth. Our time spent with them was brief, but meaningful. Our prayers are with Jackie and the family.

We extend our deepest sympathy to Jackie, Jason, Lara, and all the family. Gene was passionate about everything he did in life from working out at the gym to spreading God's Word. We are going to miss our friend, Gene, but know we will see him again, when we too take that journey home. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family for comfort, peace and understanding.

In a world that can often be dark or littered with negativity, Gene was a shining light. From the moment I first met him, I knew that I wanted my life to shine brightly as his did. The love of Christ, the heart of God was often at the tip of his lips no matter what we were talking about. He had peace and contentment that simply can’t be found apart from knowing Christ. He was a man of integrity and loyalty and his love and care for Jackie was beautiful to see. His wife and family are in my prayers.
