Edda's obituary
Edda Eden, aged 86, passed away on April 19, 2026, in Miami, FL. Born on August 1, 1939, she lived a remarkable life filled with resilience and dedication to her family and community. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed.
Edda emigrated from Cuba in 1962, escaping communism and seeking new opportunities and a brighter future. She initially settled in New York City before making Miami her home. Edda worked tirelessly as a mental health counselor, a career she pursued with passion until the age of 79. Her commitment to helping others left an indelible mark on those she served.
An avid reader, Edda found joy and solace in books throughout her life. She also cherished the companionship of her beloved dogs, Gaby and Mely, who brought her endless comfort and happiness.
Edda is survived by her loving daughter, Yvette Frison (George); her granddaughters, Allison Frison Horihan (Kyle) and Lauren Frison; as well as her sister-in-law, nieces, nephew, and their families. She was predeceased by her sister Adda Eden; brother Adib Eden; father Avelino Eden; mother Elena Gonzalez Eden; and niece Rebecca Eden.
Funeral services will honor Edda’s life beginning with a viewing on Wednesday, April 29th, from 6 to 9 PM at Maspons Funeral Home, located at 7895 SW 40th St., Miami, FL 33155. Burial will follow on Thursday, April 30th, at Flagler Memorial Park Cemetery, 5301 W Flagler St., Miami, FL 33134. Attendees may meet at Maspons Funeral Home at 9:30 AM to proceed together or go directly to the cemetery office for guidance to the burial location.
Edda’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.
