Whenever I think about 2020 and the scariest part of the whole Covid thing, I can't help but think about how Ed went out of his way to help my family. Home alone with my 2 kids while my husband was deployed to New York City as a paramedic for 3 months, it was challenging to get out and run errands. I'll never forget how Ed insisted on picking up groceries for us. He said it made him feel good to do his part to help. That was how he got me to stop objecting! I'll never forget that kindness.

..Ed, i always looked to you as a brother/sister.  you were never shy on giving people 'second chances', which you did with me, when i moved back to LA at the turn of the century (2001).  i will be forever grateful.

you had personality, spunk, and you touched so many lives (especially Mike's). i remember you telling me how happy you were, when u met (and ultimately married) him. i was so happy for both of you..

i was very sad, upon hearing about your passing; you didn't deserve this.

God bless you, Ed, and i hope/pray we meet again..

I am so sad to hear this news. This breaks my heart. Mike, please take care! Ed was such a positive light. I can’t imagine the world without him! I have such wonderful memories of the times we had together. The number one memory was the laughter and his looks. You always knew what he was thinking with his glance. There was always a smile and a story… whether it was from childhood or last week. Never, ever, a dull moment. Always taking it to “11”! His energy was infectious. Noone that met Ed would ever forget him. Ed was a bright presence in this world. He will live on through the many stories we share. We would not talk for many months and then pickup as if it was yesterday. You and your families are in my thoughts. Big hug, Mike. I can’t imagine your loss.

I never got a chance to tell you how much I admired you and how your story inspired me to be a better father and human. You were a light in the darkness and always a joy to be around. I didn’t think I knew you well enough to cry and still I weep hearing this news. You were truly an amazing man. Rest in peace brother.
