Earnestine's obituary
Tine lived most of her life in Byhalia, MS where she worked at Gem Inc for over 30 years and built a lot of friendships while keeping a home for her family. She proved to be a devoted daughter, wife, and mother that was seen in her actions during the sicknesses that affected family. She was a sterling support at many births, graduations and marriages within the family as well as a model mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.
She was known for her generous spirit shown at the large Bar-B-Qs she and her son hosted at the family home. Her cooking was enjoyed by all in the neighborhood especially her greens, sweet potato pies, and three-layer coconut cakes!
Growing up as a spiritual minded person she always had a burning thirst for knowledge so she began studying the Bible with Jehovah Witnesses and started a lasting relationship with her loving creator Jehovah.
She symbolized her dedication to Jehovah by water baptism on June 28, 2003 and enjoyed sharing her faith with others. Tine continued to hold true to that dedication and her determination to remain faithful and loyal right down to the very end. She demonstrated her love for Jehovah by continuing to tell others about Him all during her sickness. She witnessed to those that came to her home and who cared for her when she was not able to get out. She was known for her heartfelt and humorous comments. Her conduct was a witness in itself as her caregiver spoke fondly of her.
She departed this life at her home in Olive Branch MS on Sunday, April 4, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her daughter Vanessa DeBerry. Tine was loved dearly. She will be missed and remembered by us all, but most of all she rests in the perfect memory of her loving father Jehovah God whose son will call her name “Earnestine DeBerry” and she will answer.
She leaves to cherish her memories her loving children: Anthony (Ruby) DeBerry of Byhalia MS; Beverly Payne of Olive Branch MS; Dwayne DeBerry of Byhalia MS and Mamie (Corry) Martin of Olive Branch MS; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Special nieces and nephews along with a host of other friends.
