Earl's obituary

Earl Lee Bright, a long-time resident of Brenham and WWII veteran of the United States Army, passed in peace Friday, July 27, 2018, at the venerable age of 98.Earl was born June 16, 1920, in Murray County, Georgia. Coming of age during WWII, Earl answered the call to serve with his fellow Americans in Germany and also in the Pacific. Earl married his sweetheart, Viola Fuelberg and had two daughters, Janie and Brenda. After the war, Earl settled with his family in Brenham, where he established a suc-cessful mechanic garage and a salvage yard. His honest, dependable work and his outgoing, generous nature won him a place in the hearts of many in Brenham. Earl was a member of the VFW and an avid fisherman and sportsman with a great sense of humor. Much of his last 12 years was shared with the Taylor and Beechner families, who were honored to know him, to care for him in his age, and to celebrate his birth-days and holidays with the warmth of his sparkling grin and stories from his memories. Among many caring friends both young and old, Earl was deeply loved and respected, he is now missed, and will be cherished always. Earl is preceded in death by his wife Viola and daughter Janie Powell. He is survived by daughter Brenda Budell, grandsons Koy and Stacy Schiener and Ray Powell, along with two grandsons Reed and Zane Schiener. Special thanks for the generous funeral donation to Earl given by Beyond The Battlefield Foundation, The Tiegen Foundation founded by John “Tig” Tiegen, Beng-hazi hero and his wife, Mar-garet. A graveside service with military honors will be held Friday, September 21, 2018, at 2:00 pm. In the Prairie Lea Cemetery 1004 Prarie Lea St. Brenham, TX 77833
