Dylan's obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Dylan Muir on March 14th, 2026.

Dylan was born in Vernal, Utah, and grew up in Manila, Utah.

He was a hardworking man who always provided for his family, and made friends everywhere he went. His boys, Sylas, Mayson, and Mackyln, were his whole world. He loved spending time with them, whether it was watching football as a die-hard Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan or going fishing together.

Dylan leaves behind his wife, Shanette, who has loved him since high school and has known him since they were kids in 5th grade, playing Jr. Jazz together. They were truly each other’s yin and yang.

He was someone you couldn’t be around without laughing. He loved to joke, tease, and keep everyone on their toes, especially his four sisters-in-laws. He wasn’t just family by marriage, he was truly a brother.

He is also survived by his dad, Jerry Muir, and his brother, Joey Muir, along with many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, Traci Leith; his older brother, Michael Muir; and his grandparents, Rusty and Louise Muir.

We will be holding a celebration of life on April 25th at 3:00 PM at Paintbrush Park in Meeker, Colorado (101 Ute Rd, Meeker, CO 81641). We’d love for anyone who knew Dylan to come join us as we spend time together, share memories, and celebrate his life. If you’re able, please feel free to bring a side or dish to share.

He will be missed by many.

Please keep Shanette, their boys, and the entire family in your thoughts and prayers.
