Dylan's obituary

Dylan Meacham July 25, 2008 - February 6, 2021

Dylan Douglas Beebower Meacham, age 14, went home to be with his Lord Jesus on Saturday, February 6th, 2021. His passing was the result of a senseless, tragic accident that has left us heart broken, but we find rest in the knowledge that his vibrant smile is now helping to light up heaven.
Dylan was born in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho to Nicole Beebower. From the very beginning he was a vivacious little guy who sought out adventures. When Dylan was only 8 years old, Nicole passed away, and he went to live with his mother’s sister and brother-in-law, Theresa and Cody Meacham, and their three children, Blythe, Audrey and Sam. A year later, he officially became a Meacham and went from nephew to son and cousin to brother. In 2017, the family moved from Genesee, Idaho to Frisco, Texas where Dylan attended Leadership Prep School where he was currently an eighth grader.
Dylan’s charismatic personality was the life of the party, and his love of trying new adventures never faded. He learned multiple sports simply for the fun and challenge of playing. Baseball, soccer, basketball and hockey were all games Dylan enjoyed, but he also did more individual sports like karate, fencing and ping pong. He was so excited to begin playing with the water polo team he had just joined. He would get to swim and tackle people! How could that not be fun?
Dylan loved any activity that involved water, especially fishing, kayaking, and swimming. If he saw a body of water, it didn’t matter if it was zero degrees out, he would ask if he could jump in. Dylan also loved mountain biking with his dad and brother, skateboarding with his dad and sister, and of course going on adventures with his whole family.
Dylan’s love of adventure drew him to join Scouting. He completed Cub Scouts in Genesee, Idaho and was a Boy Scout in Texas with Troop 406. He loved going on the monthly campouts and learning survival skills. Dylan was convinced that he could be dropped off in the Alaskan wilderness and create a whole new life with just his pocket knife.
Dylan enjoyed being the Leadership Prep School mascot, playing percussion in the school band, and participating in drama, an activity which he was particularly proud of. He loved to make people laugh! And he was good at it. He left a ripple of fun and exuberance everywhere he went.
He attended church with his family at Word of Life where he was active with the youth and served with the sound crew every Sunday morning, arriving extra early to help set up. Dylan truly had a heart to serve.
Through all the adventurous activities he was drawn to, there was one common thread that never changed. Dylan wanted to join the military when he grew up. His dream was to become a Navy Seal. Every new activity he did, he somehow connected it in his mind as preparation for military service. As young as 5 years old, Dylan was drawn to men and women in uniform and would proudly salute them saying, “Thank you for your service.” His love for God and country ran deep.
Dylan is survived by his parents Cody and Theresa Meacham, brother, Samuel Meacham (13), and sisters Blythe (17) and Audrey (15) Meacham of Little Elm, TX. He is also survived by sister Amara Winn, brother-in-law Noah Winn, niece Ava and nephew Adrian of Spirit Lake, ID; grandmother Nancy Thorp of Genesee, ID; Grandfather Doug Thorp of Hayden Lake, ID; Grandfather Stan Smith of Plummer, ID; Grandparents Bruce and Robin Meacham of Lewiston, ID; Great- Grandparents Bob and Sue Williams of Catheys Valley, CA; Great-Grandfather Marshall Thorp of Hayden Lake, ID; Great-Grandfather Forest Beebower of Madera, CA; Aunt Cassandra Thorp of Spokane, WA, Aunt Jennifer Thorp of Harrison, ID; Aunt Heather and Uncle Jason Fehrenbach of Bluffdale, UT; and cousins Daxon, Decklyn, Russell, Cannon, Cashel, Vivian, Kai and Gigi.
Dylan is preceded in death by his biological mother, Nicole Michelle Beebower; Grandfather, Russell Beebower and Great-Grandmother Laura Lee “GiGi Grandma” Beebower.
Dylan enjoyed a blessed life here on earth full of love and adventure. Now the adventure continues in heaven as he is reunited with his Momma Nicole. We know that he is right there with that cloud of witnesses found in Hebrews 12:1 looking down and cheering us all on!
