Dylan and I on my trip to California in 2022

Dylan was a great friend. He was someone I always trusted to brighten my mood, show me new ways of thinking, and pick me up when I was down. We had tons of long, deep conversations, shared our wins and our losses, and pushed eachother to grow in our faith.
We played the game of life together, and with Dylan around, it always felt like you were winning. I’ll forever cherish his memory and carry it with me.
My deepest condolences to the family.

Missy,
Dylan boy was a delight to b around.
I have so many good memories of Dylan boy on those tennis courts at castlewood!!!
He was the life of those clinics and some very hot days he would b the only one showing up and we would do 1.5 hrs of tennis and some deep conversations.
Time would fly by and he would always thank me for giving him a 1.5hr tennis lesson.
He would entertain anyone around him with his creative mind!!!!
Will never forget the grill cheese sandwich he would bring me saying he was the best grill cheese sandwich maker!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
Dylan boy turned into a very fine young man and last time I saw him , I had the chance to tell him how proud I was of him.
I have nothing but amazing, sweet memories of my 4ever Dylan boy!!!!!
Gone way too soon and will b missed by all who had the pleasure of having met him.
Love u Dylan boy!

We am deeply sadden to hear that Dylan has pass. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family and loved ones. Since he was a kid, he became one of our regulars coming to the shop with his siblings & it pains us that he’s now gone. Our family will miss his random trips getting ham & cheese croissants & monsters. He will be deeply missed. <3

I am so saddened by hearing of this tragedy. My heart goes to the entire Dantzig ( and related ) clan. Dylan was a special person and he will be missed, I enjoyed talking with him and attempting to make plans to meet up while he was in England. I loved the smile on his face, when he served me a beer while he was working at Porkys. I think he got as much of a kick out of serving his old pediatrician a beer as I did from getting one from him!! a thoughtful and wonderful human being, I will miss him

Dylan Dantzig:
When I first met Dylan, I discovered that we both had a passion for Rock Hounding. Then I found out that he belonged to the same Rock Club (Mineral and Gem Society of Castro Valley) that I had joined in the 1970’s. I invited him to my house to look at some of my collection of Agates, Crystals, Thundereggs, etc, that I had collected in California, Nevada, Oregon, and Montana. He noticed that I had some Oregon Sunstones, (that only come from one area in Eastern Oregon called Plush, OR). He asked if I had been to Plush? I said No, that I had traded a guy from Oregon, some Lake County Diamonds for the Sunstones. He asked me where the Lake County Diamonds, came from? I said from the hills West of Clear Lake/ Lakeport, CA area.
That led to many more discussions, about places where we had collected gem quality material and places we wanted to go to.
There is something very spiritual about digging up a rock or crystal, that probably has never been seen by another human being.
I wish I could have had more time with Dylan!
Rest in Peace my friend.

Dylan will be deeply missed. What a profound loss. He had a great group of friends here in Nashville, and I was lucky to be part of it. We spent hours talking about investing, strategies, and life principles, then even more time on nonsense that somehow became some of our fondest memories of Dylan.
When I told him I could add a few extra days to my Argentina trip, he went out of his way to make it an unforgettable experience. We played golf and hung out with his local friends, some of whom I’m still in touch with. It’s hard to believe that trip was only three months ago.
Rest in peace, brother. We’ve got it from here. Your legacy in Nashville will live on.

We were at the Monte Vista Invitational. It was Dylan's first high school cross country race. The course at Monte Vista was 2 miles long. Athletes raced by grade, so Dylan was going to race against all the other freshmen. The first mile was fairly flat and the second was covered with a number of steep hills. Most of the uphill was in the first half of the second mile a d the second half of that mile was downhill. We did a good job explaining to the kids that they couldn't go out too fast in the first mile because they would get buried in the second mile. For Dylan, maybe we did too good of a job, because he started way behind his ability. He got to the hill and was hestant at first, but as he reached the first peak, he realized that although the hills hurt, he was too far back. From there, the race was inspiring. Rather than feel bad about his mistake, he started making up ground. He passed the group he was with, then the next group, and then the next. He didn't win the race, but in a race of 195 runners, he finished 9th.
That race represents the way that I remember Dylan pretty well. He definitely didn't get everything right the first time, but he didn't let those mistakes interfere with his enthusiasm or his persistence. Dylan was a great teammate and although there were frustrating times coaching him, he was a joy to coach. He brought positive elements to our team that few have been able to.
I only just found out about his passing and am so sorry.
