Dwayne's obituary

Dwayne Charles Smith, 50, of Stokesdale, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center.

An 11:00 a.m. funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Ray Funeral Home with Pastor Carol Kearns officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Dwayne was born in Mecklenburg County on May 26, 1974, to Donald Smith and Jane Hodges Smith. He worked for Tri-City Kia for eight years. Dwayne was a loving husband, son, father, and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family. His hobbies included cooking, boating, and his favorite was fishing, especially at the Florida Keys.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Crystal Hiatt Smith; his children, Taylor Elizabeth Smith, Austin Thomas Smith, Braydon Charles Smith, and Chloe Grace Smith; his step children, Caleb Charles Stewart, Justin Hunter Stewart, and Joel Herbert Franklin; brothers, Donald Mark Smith (Amy) and Jeffery Ray Smith (Alexis); grandchildren Khamdyn Franklin and Sophia Franklin; his ex-wife, Jennifer Richter Porter; and mother and father-in-law, Kaye Cain and Steven Hiatt.
