Dustin's obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dustin Hensley, who left us far too soon on March 13, 2025 in a skateboarding accident. Born on September 19, 1984, Dustin lived a life filled with passion and determination, always striving to overcome his struggles and live his life to the fullest.
Dustin was a proud graduate of Pineville Independent School District in Kentucky. From a young age, he had an artistic spirit and a love for tangible creations, which he expressed through his recreational activities of skateboarding, drawing, and woodworking. These activities were not just hobbies for Dustin; they were outlets for his creativity and resilience.
Described by those close to him as a person constantly embroiled in a conflict with himself, Dustin battled drug addiction throughout his life. However, his spirit remained unbroken, and toward the end of his life, he dedicated himself fervently to forging a path toward change. His struggle is not what defined him, but rather, how he tirelessly pushed forward in search of better days.
While Dustin had no biological siblings, his bond with his brothers in arms from the 201st in the military was just as strong. His time in service was something he held close to his heart and considered one of his greatest achievements. His unit was his brotherhood, and his service is a testament to his strength and commitment to duty.
Dustin leaves behind his loving wife, Mary Hensley, who supported him throughout their shared journey, and his children, and his mother, Penny Hensley. Their loss is immeasurable, and our hearts go out to them during this difficult time.
Dustin's life was a testament to the human spirit's resilience and the tenacity to continue fighting, no matter the adversity. In his memory, let us remember his strength, his creativity, and his love for those close to him. Rest in peace, Dustin. You will be deeply missed.
