Duane Procter II, 45, of Fayetteville, NC, passed away on November 23, 2022.

Duane was born on September 12th, 1977 to the late Peggy Procter Maxwell and Tracey Maxwell in Fayetteville, NC. After attending Cape Fear High School, he was employed by Barnhill Construction for many years. The light of his life, his daughter Makayla Procter, whom he shares with Shannon Chappel, was born in 2008. Duane was a force of nature, determined to make sure everyone knew how proud he was of his daughter and loved ones. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. Duane was also a passionate sports fanatic and could often be found with his uncle Steve, watching the Carolina Tarheels or the Minnesota Vikings play. Duane was the most loving father, nephew, brother, son, cousin and friend that anyone could ask for. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Duane and Lois Procter, his paternal grandparents, William Robert Maxwell Jr.  and Elizabeth Maxwell, his mother, Peggy Procter Maxwell, his Aunt Pamela Maxwell Johnson and uncle Robert Livingston Maxwell.

He is survived by his daughter, Makayla Shyanne Procter, sister Ashley Maxwell Lee (Michael), niece Piper Lee, nephew Cason Lee, father Tracey Wayne Maxwell, (Teresa), uncle Steven Procter (with whom he lived) and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the support of his daughter through the established fund. There will be a visitation for friends and family on Monday, November 28th, 2022 at 4pm at Temple Baptist Church, 3159 Sanderosa Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28312. A Celebration of Life will follow at 5pm. Officiating will be conducted my Rev. Chris Autry. Duane’s family sincerely appreciates your prayers and support during this difficult time.
