A visitation will be held on Friday December 6, 2024, from 3:00pm to 6:00pm at the Universal Chung Wah Funeral home, 225 N. Garfield Ave, Alhambra, CA 91801. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday December 7, 2024, from 10:00am to 1:00pm at the Universal Chung Wah Funeral home. A graveside service followed by interment for Timothy will be held Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Rose Hills Memorial Park, North Star Terrace Lawn, Gate 1, Section 1, Lot 1808, Grave 2, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, California 90601.

Timothy was preceded in death by his father Chuyan-Her Chiang; survived by his wife Sara Shih, mother Fen Chiang, older sister Julia (Jeff) Clark of Minnesota, younger sister Christina (Andy) Chen of Minnesota, baby sister Patricia (Steve) Lin of Alpharetta Georgia. Nieces and nephews Kevin Clark, Ethan Chen, Trendan Lin and Tristan Lin. Also many other relatives, friends, coworkers and neighbors.

Timothy was born with cataracts in both eyes. At 6 months of age the doctors attempted surgery to repair his eyes but the surgery failed which left him legally blind. He attended school for the blind up through high school. His educational post-secondary educational opportunities were limited in Taiwan, resulting in Tim to pursue higher education in the United States. Tim’s curriculum vitae includes, Special Education and Elementary Education Degree from Northern Illinois University, Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from University of South Carolina, Ph.D. from Michigan State University and a Post Doctorate from UCLA in clinical psychology. Tim did not allow his eyesight to limit his potential, did not demand accommodations and was committed to working hard. Upon graduation, he practiced as a clinical psychologist in LA county. He enjoyed the opportunities it gave him to meet and counsel many individuals throughout his career. He retired from the position in 2022.

Tim was a loving husband to his wife Sara of 25 years, wonderful brother and a son who deeply loved and respected his parents, he had a caring servant personality for this family. He loved listening to beautiful music and playing his violin and the piano. He was a very devoted man, walking by faith and not sight. He will be greatly missed by the many lives he touched. Tim fought the good fight, finishing the race faithfully throughout his battle with cancer. And now the prize awaits Tim – the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give Tim on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for Tim but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing. (2 Timothy 2:7-8).

In lieu of flowers, financial contributions in memory of Tim can be made to the “Pancreatic Cancer Action Network” or “American Cancer Society” or “A Church” or any charity you prefer.
