Sweet Paula was my dearest friend in high school. I had just moved to Dallas right before beginning sophomore year, and didn’t know anyone. Paula welcomed me and made me feel special. After graduating we didn’t see each other often. But when we did it was like we’d never been apart. She was a shining light spreading love and joy wherever she went. I know there is a hole in all of our hearts. But because of our mutual faith in the Lord Jesus Christ I know I will see Paula again. Love and blessings to her family.

John and Turner…Our hearts are broken. We had so many good times in Vail…our neighborhood parties, our friendship…we met in carpool and in the years that followed it included car pools to Vail Mountain School, hockey, soccer, Ski Club Vail and many more…we will never forget when we all hosted the Chinese hockey team from Jilin back in the 90's..you had the Communist party leaders assigned to make certain the players arrived back home and we had the coaches yet no one spoke a word of English ..what a few weeks….Paula always vibrant and energetic leading the way..thank you for the memories, the friendship, the love that we will treasure...So happy we connected again in Carbondale... We miss you dearly…Joann and Ed Levy Brandon and Jaime Levy PS-John and Turner…per our discussion at the service please stay in touch…...

I knew Paula through our Nosework community. We were Parking Lot Pals for NACSW Trials. I also knew her thru AKC Scent Work. I gave her AKC judging assignments for our club so she could graduate from Provisional Status to Approved. She joined our club to support the fledging scent work program. She judged several of our trials, and was to judge again for us in October. She was a wonderful judge, encouraging exhibitors all the way.
I learned a lot about her that I didn't know from her Memorial Service. It was a wonderful and moving service. So much LOVE. I knew she was a special lady - but I didn't realize all the talents she had. I am grateful for the few years I knew her. I will miss her in the NACSW Parking Lots, at Nosework Camp and at our AKC trials. I didn't know her family - but I knew a lot about her family. There was a twinkle in her eye when she talked about her times in Bolivia. RIP Dear Lady - You left us way too soon!

My condolences to Dr. Paula's family. I first met Dr. Paula when she hired me as AMS ESL teacher and we would often talk about Texas and our Spanish Heritage. She later asked if Scottie and I would take care of her house. Of course, I always jumped at the chance at staying at her cabin/home. I loved that house and it soon became a ritual to stay each summer when she would visit Turner in China and Bolivia. She was so generous to us and always thought of us. It breaks my heart that she is gone, our pictures of the house will be the true memories of what she loved so much. Love you Paula.
