Marvin's obituary
He attended 5TH Avenue Church of Christ St. Petersburg under the leadership of Sr. Minister Joe Tucker. He graduated Carter Paramore High School, Class of 1961. Dr. Smith served his country as Staff Sergeant (SSG) in the United States Army branch of the Armed Forces. He also attended Rutgers University where he received his psychology doctorates in Adolescent Clinical Psychology.
Dr. Smith was predeceased by his Father James Smith, Mother Allie Mae Smith, Brothers Clarence Smith, Edward Lee Thomas, Billy Thomas, Bobby Smith, Johnny Smith; Sisters Barbra Thomas, Annette Thomas, Brenda Thomas, Lizzie Smith, Earline Davis, and Betty Wright.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories with his loving wife Mary Elizabeth Mays-Smith; Son Marvin Smith; Daughters Lois James, Sylvia Mitchell, Katherine Tennial; Sister Jewel Vickers; Stepchildren Eugene Mays, Kenneth Mays; Eugenia Gresham-Mays, Denise Mays-Robinson, Jamillah Mays; as well as a number of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great, great-grandchildren, and a host of sister and brother in-laws, nieces, nephews, and close friends that will truly miss him.
