My deepest condolences to his family. He was always a pleasure to work with. He had a great sense of humor. And he was an excellent surgeon in a difficult field. He will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear of Dr. Anaya's passing. I worked with Dr. Anaya for nearly 40 years at Alexian Brothers/Regional in the operating room. For many years I was in charge of vascular surgery in the OR, so I did numerous cases with husband/dad over the years. He was my favorite surgeon to work with! I also enjoyed going to several Oakland A's baseball games with him. I have since retired and moved to Southern California, but am glad I am able to travel back to San Jose and attend his Celebration of Life tomorrow.

I am sad to hear of Emil's passing. He was my proctor at Alexian Brothers Hospital when I first came to town in 1989. As such, he once came in at 2 AM to watch me do an appy on a child. He was always very nice and welcoming to me.

I always enjoyed doing cases with Emil. He was certainly a talented surgeon, and he had a great sense of humor. It was simply a fun day. Much love and respect old friend

Dear Elizabeth and wonderful, beautiful Anaya women,
What a loss! Every time I think about Emil It brings a smile to my face. We did enjoy some good personal and professional times together. He was an incomparable surgical assistant with me in hundreds of cases. He is a man that I would always welcome in my foxhole in battle.
I am sure that he will be terribly missed by all of you and all who loved him. In my book, he was always a gentle man. I can assure you that we will always think of EMIL and smile.
LES ACOMPAÑO EN TU PESAR
Un fuerte abrazo. Ramón y Anne
So sorry we will be out of state on our annual family vacation on June 14 and therefore cannot attend the Celebration of Life.
