Dr. Alvin C. Early, Jr. left this earthly plane on Sunday, August 27th, 2023.
Dr. Early grew up in Roanoke County, where he attended Northside High School. He attended William and Mary, where he received a B.A. in 1968.
After serving in the Army, he attended Virginia Western Community College and the University of Missouri. In 1980, he received a B.S. and a DVM degree from the Tuskegee School of Veterinary Medicine.
He opened Bonsack Veterinary Hospital in 1988 and retired in 2020.
Dr. Early is survived by a sister, Anne E. King; a brother, David T. Early (Kathleen); his partner of 28 years, Robert W. Day; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Instead of a funeral, there will be a life celebration for family, friends, colleagues, and former clients.
