Dr. A. Segun Ajayi, what a remarkable brother indeed. It is with much sorrow yet gratitude to God for a life well spent, I remember my dear brother. You were not only a brother to me, but a dad. You were a role model, you were smart, soft spoken, thoughtful, always smiling, very kind and generous. The fact that I talked to him morning before his death made it more difficult to believe. My deepest condolences to your loving wife and family. I miss you already. To live in the hearts of those you love is not to die. SUN RE O.
Our heart felt condolences to the entire family on the loss of your father. We pray that God will comfort you all and give you peace knowing that his soul is at rest. May the wonderful memories you have of him live on forever in your heart. IJMNA

Papa Ajayi was a blessing to many. He touched people in different ways. He was a great promoter of General Practice/Family Medicine in Nigeria. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace, Amen. Prof IkeOluwapo Ajayi. Consultant Family Medicine Dept, UCH, Ibadan.
What a man!!!

To describe my late uncle, the great Dr. Abiola Olusegun Ajayi in a few words and in the past tense is a very difficult task.

Uncle Segun was a kindhearted man with a bubbly and effervescent personality. He was a thoroughbred achiever who set the bar high for coming generations. We remember uncle as a gifted physician with panache and a very unique style.

We learned a lot from the way he adored God, treasured his marriage to Auntie Funke, loved his family and gave his absolute best to the field of medicine.

Without doubt, uncle Segun lived a very meaningful and fulfilled life. He was inseparable from medical practice and his family. Though we’ve lost a great icon, we can take solace in that he lived well & I personally am proud to have had such a great man be my uncle. Thank you Sir for carrying the flag our family name - "Ajayi" to the vaulted ceilings and hallowed courts of Nigeria.

We salute the nuclear and extended family; friends and associates of this blessed precious son of God who has demonstrated his faith through his work and has now been called into a place of rest by the only One who knows every man's time and season. May the Lord strengthen our family and continue to shower His abundant grace & blessings upon us all.

How does one start to talk about you in the past tense, our dear Father Dr. Chief Abiola Olusegun Ajayi? You were in many ways an enigma, displaying in private, a sensitivity and thoughtfulness that was often well concealed behind your hard military man exterior.

We will surely miss your charming smile, your warm ‘ allos ’ as walked into the house with you seated on your favourite red chair in your living room, welcoming us in.

You loved family and you did all that you could to support us all. You would always enquire how we were doing, asking those probing questions of yours that meant that nothing could be hidden from you.

I remember the trepidation I felt when I approached you to ask for Titilola’s hand in marriage. And the words you spoke then, asking how you could refuse knowing that our young minds were made up, you described it all as a fait accompli. After all, you had seen this young man lurking around the house for a little while. I remember your pleasant surprise and warm smile on learning that this gangling young man was the son of one of your favorite hostel mates at UCI, the University College Ibadan.

You wanted us all to excel, you held us all to very high standards and you always wanted us to be accountable. You enjoyed listening to our exploits, just as you loved listening to your jazz music.

You had such a looming presence in all our lives, meaning that you now leave a void that no one can possibly fill. Our hearts ache at our loss but we all know and take strength from knowing that you lived a very fulfilling life.

We shall all miss you our dear Grandpa VI with tears in our eyes as we bid you good night.

You most certainly came, you saw and you conquered.

Thank you for leaving us with your thoughts in two beautiful books.

We love you Grandpa VI.
We always will
Chidi

We thank God for a life well-lived. And pray for strength and comfort for Mrs Ajayi, the children and grandchildren. It is well.
Dr Ajayi made his marks in life. Those marks cannot be erased. Every area he touched, he excelled. Very thoughtful and a great planner. Broad minded, accommodating other people’s opinions. His passing is a great loss. May your family and friends find strength at this challenging time.

It is with deepest sorrow and sadness that I write this tribute to my ‘Uncle Segun’. Your death came as a shock and as you sit in the arms of the Lord, your family, friends and colleagues mourn your death.
You were an uncle in a million - humble, kind, loving, caring and good at heart and soul. You touched so many lives (especially your extended family) by your selfless and countless acts of kindness, always giving and never expecting any favours in return. We thank the Lord for your life and bid you farewell until we meet again.

"Departed, but never will be dead;
Alive and evergreen, in the souls of those left behind;
The song is ended, but the melody will always be with us;
Forever indelible, as the distinct imprints your kind touch has left on our hearts and in our lives.
You were such a good role model to me, and will be missed very much. Your constant smile, soft voice, and focus are few of your greatest attributes, you will always be in my heart. Rest In Peace Uncle...
It was an honour to have known you Sir. Thank you for all your bestsellers and your love of jazz. An icon and a true gentleman. And a great example for us all. Rest in peace with the Lord.
