Douglas's obituary
Douglas Howard Stewart
October 30, 1962 – September 1, 2025
Douglas Howard Stewart was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, and grew up in Manhattan Beach, California. He was the beloved son of June and Bill Stewart, and a devoted father to Elizabeth, Sarah, and Sean Stewart.
Douglas was a man of many gifts — intelligent, quick-witted, and endlessly curious about the world. He was an Eagle Scout and lifelong lover of baseball, lessons that shaped his sense of perseverance and teamwork. A talented entrepreneur, he built and ran his own business with creativity and determination.
He loved his family deeply, as well as his church community, which grounded him through life’s many seasons. Those who knew him will remember his humor, his warmth, and his passion for collecting vinyl records — each one a reflection of his love for music and nostalgia.
Though his journey held both light and challenge, Douglas will be remembered for his heart, his laughter, and the pieces of himself that live on in those who loved him.
He will be dearly missed and forever loved by his family and friends.
He is proceeded in death by his father, Bill Stewart and his brother, Pete Stewart. He is survived by his mother June Stewart, best friend Susan Stewart, his children Elizabeth (Ben) Stewart, Sarah Stewart and Sean Stewart, his grandchildren Marlowe and Calder.
Memorial date to be announced.
