Douglas's obituary

Douglas J. Rockey, known affectionately as Doug, was born in Howell, Michigan. He passed away peacefully on October 27, 2024, in Lake City, Florida and lived many years in Bradenton, Florida after leaving Michigan.
Doug was a man of many passions, with a particular fondness for cars and fishing, pursuits that brought him much joy throughout his life. His greatest gift, however, was his wonderful sense of humor, which endeared him to friends and family alike. He had a unique ability to bring laughter to those around him, creating cherished memories that will last forever.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Marjorie Fleming, who stood by his side through life's ups and downs. Doug was a proud father to Amanda Lampron and her husband Todd, and to his son Josh Rockey. He also cherished his role as a grandfather to Addyson and Austyn Lampron, who brought immeasurable joy to his life.
Despite facing challenges with his health, particularly with COPD and mental health struggles, Doug remained a beacon of strength and humor. His family encourages others to support local mental health organizations in his memory, as they acknowledge the barriers he faced in accessing vital resources.
Doug will be remembered not just for his love of cars and fishing, but for the laughter he spread and the love he shared. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
