I only think about the good times; never had any bas times. Although we are 1/2 world appart I still think of him every day.

Doug Parker was a good, pragmatic yet tough man. I knew him from his legacy when I worked in PNG from 2000 and later Mexico for Parker Drilling. Like myself, he married a Filipina. When I got fired by Parker's CEO whilst working for Parker in Mexico in 2004, Doug asked for my resume. I sent it to him and he sent me his resume "do it in this format" he wrote. My next job would take me to Nigeria for 3 times the salary!
Doug and I kept in touch annually at Christmas time with the other former PDC hands who now call Australia home. I will miss this year's correspondence.

A true gentleman. The world will miss him. Being the only female expat at Nabors, Doug was a refreshing and comforting influence on my career. What a legend.

My sincere condolences to you all Michelle, Allan and Anna. Doug and I worked for the same company for many years. First in 84 through around 86 in Singapore. Then again in Papua New Guinea from 88 to 93. Doug was more than a coworker in the drilling industry he was a true friend. I’ve been in Houston now for the last 22 years, Doug would always get in touch when passing through Houston on business for a catch up over a beer and dinner. A true friendship that I will cherish for the rest of my days.

The last time I too saw Dougie was at Mom’s Celebration of Life in 2019. It wasn’t easy for him and Allan to attend since winter in this area is not kind to those relying on the aircraft industry. We didn’t get to visit as much as we wanted to as Dougie was having to deal with cancellations and rescheduling to return home. We all missed them after the Celebration. My sincere condolences to you Michelle, Allan, Anna and Maya. Love Linda

Dear Dougie,
The last time I saw you was at Mom’s (your Auntie Marj) celebration of life in February 2019. I am still processing the fact that you have passed on and there will be no more chances to see one another.
As young cousins, we spent time together when our parents would visit one another. My Mom had a great fondness for your Dad, Doug Sr, her younger brother, as did all of our family. You were very much like your dad in your kindness and generosity. I remember when you visited me in Kelowna, with a throw carpet in hand from one of your many travels. I also remember you driving with me from Norwich to York, England, to return a garment for Auntie Pat. We were 17 and you let me drive on the way home, my first introduction to driving on the ‘other’ side of the road. That was a fun day. And who can forget the day you and I fought downtown Edmonton over which movie to watch at the theatre (we were 12 or 13). With a lot of frustration built up, I hopped on a bus and away I went, oblivious as to where I was headed. I was lucky in that I chose the correct bus to get me back to your Aunt Anne’s house. As we later reminisced about the event, you expressed how worried and afraid you were for my well being. We could now laugh at how stubborn we both were.
I am so sorry you are gone from our world and no longer have precious time with your wife, children and grandchild. You are gone, but not forgotten.
