How you can help

Douglas's death was unexpected, and I won’t have all of the necessary funds I will need to pay for his funeral and burial. (Only approx. half will be made available as far as I know as of now.) So I’m appealing to anyone who can find it in their hearts to make any size of donation to this fundraising effort so it can be paid for asap. I will be holding a celebration of life service, a cremation, and then his burial with plot.

Also, any funds raised that go beyond the total cost needed is going to be used to create a future education fund for his youngest child, 4 year old Ava Grace. This was Doug’s greatest wish for her. He recognized the extraordinary intelligence in her already and knew she will be someone important one day. And so he was determined to secure the funds on his own to ensure she would have the ability to attend and complete any and all educational programs and obtain as many degrees as she could possibly dream to have. He was determined to see her have the freedom to be anything she one day wants to be and said she should never have to and will never have to worry about affording any of thats schooling as long as he was here as her father. It’s crushing that his biggest dream for her was taken away before he had a chance to fulfill it. Even if he never did I know how much importance he put on having that for her. So I am hoping I can at least start that education fund for her so maybe one day she can have the financial freedom to live her dreams.

I am here to thank anyone in advance that is kind enough to open their hearts and their wallets in this time of great sadness as we say goodbye to a wonderful family member, and friend.

Douglas "Doug" Nurse, affectionately known as Doug but preferred Douglas, passed away on April 19, 2025. Born on July 25, 1978, his life was one filled with compassion, determination, and a heart full of love. He has now free to join his loving mother, Lorna Francis Nurse, in Heaven. His legacy will be carried on here by his loving partner, Lara Costa and their daughter Ava Grace. Also his father Douglas Nurse Sr, his sister …
