I was fortunate to have worked with Doug at Farmers. Doug was passionate about coaching and developing new members of the department, including myself. Doug had a special gift of being able to promote confidence in others, through positive reinforcement. His passion and love for Notre Dame Football and Flyers hockey always kept our conversations fun and engaging, and allowed me to take my mind off of work at times. Doug - I'll miss our conversations so much. They were meaningful and a highlight in many of my days. You will be missed by many, but I know you will always be with us.
I am going to miss Doug for two things -- out of many. The first was his quick wit and ability to make you laugh at tough situations as well as yourself. I can't think of a time where I sat down with Doug or talked to him on the phone where I did not have at least one laugh...and this includes the very last conversation I had with him the week before he passed away. The other thing I miss is his passion. Passion for anything he really believed in...especially Notre Dame. Play like a Winner Today.

I remember Uncle Doug bailing myself and Nathaniel out of quite a few troublesome situations we had as teenagers as well as helping me out in college in more ways than one. I’ll always remember that and love him for it. He helped change my life!

Doug was a Beautiful Gift, Uncle and Brother in law to our family. His home was our home on numerous visits from Virginia. His love and support for our family had no limits. His sense of humor would light up any room as all our family functions echoed his laughter. His famous spaghetti sauce was a family tradition. Thank you for loving and supporting my sons unconditionally- even through all their car accidents !!! Your Love for my sister was like no other. You will never be forgotten. Rest in Peace, We Love You, Tom and Annette Sudbeck, Joshua. Nathaniel, Zachary
Doug was an immeasurable force in our lives. My husband and I called him our brother as to us he was everything a brother should be. His ability to find humor in our most difficult moments will forever be missed. Our hearts break just a little more each and every day that he is not with us. His love for my sister filled the house resulting in lots of laughter and constant harassment. Those of you who knew him understand what I mean! Keep up the ruckus in heaven Doug. Love Gary, Lisa, Alicia and Jordan
You were the best of the best when it came to taking care of and loving my baby sister Theresa. She loved you with the deepest love. I will miss your pasta and your funny sense of humor. You and my sister were made for each other. Thank you for making me laugh and reminding me to remember "2 rooms apart".. Love and miss you Doug.
I worked with Doug in the Florida Supplement Team and he was always a gentleman and had a great sense of humor. Doug really loved his Italian roots, especially the food and loved to travel. My condolences to the family. May he Rest In Peace
Doug and I worked together for many years. He was always the kindest person.
Please know his memory will always be treasured. Asking God to give his family strength and comfort during this difficult time as he sleeps in our Father’s arms.
Our deepest condolences to the entire family. May he Rest In Peace.
Best memory ever! My visit over Christmas 2019 and the gift exchange from Doug & Theresa at Joe & Rosie’s house. They know the story, about the big package, and the jokes and laughter that we all shared! I won ‘t go into detail but it will forever be my fondest memory of Doug’s humor, and Theresa’s as well.

Love you all!

Aunt Patty
Dear Theresa, Joe, Rosie, all family and friends: Doug will be missed immensely. His courage during this fight was amazing! But he left a permanent mark in the hearts of all he touched and he will always be there ♥️ May you find comfort in all of the happy memories.
