It is with great sadness that the family of Douglas Mwangi Mbatia announces the passing of our beloved husband, father, son, and brother. He died peacefully on Thursday, July 6th, 2023.

Douglas was the cherished husband of Catherine "Kiki" Kimani, adored father of Cole, and the beloved son, of Major (Rtd.) Simon Mbatia Kamau and the late Mrs. Helen Waithera Mbatia, dear brother to Caroline Musyoka, Charles Mbatia, Patricia Mbatia-Macharia, son-in-law to Mrs. Selena Kimani, brother-in-law to Dr. Simon Musyoka Mwangi, Priscilla Magiri, Francis Macharia, Dauphine Thigpen, Petsie Kimani, and Sylvia Kimani. Nephew to Rtd. RSM Esther Mwangi, among others. Cousin to Mary Mwangi, among others. Uncle and Friend too many.

Family and friends are welcome to attend his Celebration of Life at the Dewhirst Boles Funeral Home at 80 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844, on Friday, July 14th, 2023, from 4:00pm (ET) to 7:00pm (ET).

The funeral service will be held at the Dewhirst Boles Funeral Home at 80 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844 on Saturday, July 15th, 2023, from 11:00am(ET) to 12:30pm(ET)

The interment will follow at the Bellevue Cemetery at 70 May Street, Lawrence, MA 01841, from 1:00pm(ET) to 2:00pm(ET).

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 8th, 2023, and Sunday, July 9th, 2023, between 3:00pm(ET) - 7:00pm ET) at the Kimani family home at 24 Crescent Street, Lawrence, MA 01841.
The family will share fundraising and funeral service updates during the visitation hours from 4:30pm(ET) - 5:00pm(ET) on Saturday and Sunday.
