Douglas (Doug)'s obituary
July 7, 1985 - October 5, 2021
South Berwick, Maine Douglas A Greenhalgh (Doug) passed away on Oct. 5, 2021.
Douglas was born on July 7, 1985 in Concord, NH. to David Greenhalgh and Catherine Rier.
He attended Ellsworth High School, where his skill and love for woodworking began to unfold. He continued to pursue and build his career as one excellent finish carpenter, highly sought after throughout the Maine and New Hampshire region.
Doug was a strategic planner, creative innovator and a true adventurer with a love of travel whether by foot, boat or dirt bike. He enjoyed fishing, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, gardening, music concerts, camping and a great BBQ session. He was a phenomenal cook and valued those close to him highly, always going above and beyond expectations. His annual trip down the Saint Croix with his father and cousin Alex were always a story to be told and he was known for being well equipped with every gear essential (and then some), always the best of the best of course.
Doug is survived by his grandmother Mildred Greenhalgh (Milli); mother Catherine Rier; father David Greenhalgh; sisters Marianne Russell and Lynne Greenhalgh; stepbrother Nathan Hemingway; cousin (like brother) Alex Greenhalgh, close uncles and aunts, nieces, nephews, godchildren, friends and his beloved dog Garcia.
Previously departed loved ones include paternal grandfather Alan Greenhalgh; maternal grandmother Rebecca Rier and maternal grandfather Barney Rier.
