DOUGLAS KURT DENTON

July 14, 1961 January 1, 2022

Douglas was born on at Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington, D.C. to Curtis Wayne Denton and Joyce Ann Denton. He departed this life on January 1, 2022 at the Olin Teague Veteran’s Hospital.

He is survived by his parents, two children Joseph Bradley Denton and Rachel Naomi Denton, sister Sherry Shoemaker and her husband Steve, two brothers Craig Denton and wife Dorothy and Dallas Denton and wife Dixie. He is survived by three nephews Karl Miller and wife Dianna, David Denton and Daniel Denton and niece Denver Denton.

As an Army brat, he lived at Fort Meyer, Virginia, on Okinawa, at Fort Devens, Massachusetts, Tucson, Arizona, Springfield, Virginia and finally in Harker Heights, Texas where he graduated from Killeen High School.

He served in the US Navy and moved to Lorena, Texas. He married Donna Rose Burnett in 1999 and their two children were born to them while they lived in Lorena.

Doug’s family moved to Lubbock and then to Idalou, Texas. Douglas and Joseph moved back to Harker Heights in 2016 where they lived until the time of Doug’s death.

Doug loved his Lord, his family and his country. He will be missed but not forgotten
