Shawn's obituary
Douglas "Shawn" Carson
July 17, 1966 – May 22, 2025
Douglas Shawn Carson — known by many names, including “Super Shawn” and, affectionately (or infamously), “Asshole Carson” — passed away on May 22, 2025, in Mabank, Texas, at the age of 58.
Born on July 17, 1966, in Phoenix, Arizona, Shawn was the son of Dr. Lowell Francis Carson and Doris Yvonne Lankford. He lived a wild, unforgettable life, full of ups, downs, and everything in between. He made no apologies for who he was — a smart ass with a sharp tongue, a big heart, and a stubborn streak a mile long. He didn't take anyone's crap, lived life on his own terms, and left behind enough stories to last a lifetime.
Shawn did some crazy things in his life — some he was proud of, some not so much — but every step was part of what made him who he was. He had a hard side and a soft side, and if you knew him well, you probably saw both.
He is survived by his loving ex-wife Kimberly Palmer and her partner Todd Anderson;
his children:
Daughter: Stephanie Price and her Husband Ricky Price their children Gauge Price and Shelby Reicks
Daughter: HeatherMonroe and her husband Reggie Monroe, their children Cameron Carson-McDonald, Tyson Cruz, and James Sockwell
Son: Bobby Carson and his wife Amanda La'Verne Carson, their children Nevaeh D. Carson and Rowdy D. Carson
Son: Brandon Samuel Shawn Carson and his wife Katee Carson, their children Emma Lou Carson and Tidus Carson
Before he passed, Shawn made sure his children would hear one last message, lovingly delivered by Amanda:
“To my kids — I love each one of you so much. I know I wasn’t always the best dad, but I did the best I could. I’m still with you, always. When you hear that special song or feel a breeze out of nowhere — that’s me. Don’t be sad. I’m no longer in pain. I’m finally at peace.” and always remember Don't Do what I did in life, Do Better I am Proud of each of you, for all of your accomplishments and i am glad I got to see You Grow up!
A final word to Kim: (He made Amanda promise She would add this)
"Kim… well, we sure gave 'em a run, didn’t we? We drove each other crazy more times than I can count, but somehow we always circled back with respect and love. You were the Bonnie to my Clyde — minus the bank robberies, but with all the chaos. I know I wasn't always easy, but you stuck it out longer than most ever would’ve dared. Thank you for being part of my life, for the family we made, and for not killing me when I probably deserved it. Tell Todd I said he owes me a can of snuff." when he sees me on the other side!
Shawn may be gone in body, but his presence will never fade. He lives on in the laughter, the stories, and the fierce love he left behind.
A private family memorial will be held in his honor on July 26, 2025 we will know a location asap and let everyone know
