Dewey Douglas “Doug” Bowling, Jr., age 59, of Covington, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. He was born on July 30, 1966, in Midland, Texas. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Julie Lyn Davis Bowling; children, Sadie Bowling, Judson Bowling, and Emily Bowling; siblings, David, Bill, and Becky; and many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey Douglas Bowling, Sr. and Charlotte Ann Saunders Bowling.

He graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1984 and pursued his bachelor’s and then master’s degrees from the University of Texas at Austin. Doug was a man of adventure, laughs, and loyalty. His career carried him all over the world, living in Indonesia, Kuwait, Angola, Africa, Newfoundland, Texas, and finally, Louisiana. He never met a stranger and embodied a legacy of kindness to others - lighting up any room with his wit and good nature. He was adored by his family, friends, and coworkers and is dearly missed.
