Dot's obituary
March 6, 1970 – September 8, 2025
Dr. Dotun I. Oyedijo, 55, of Naperville, Illinois, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Dot was born in Nigeria to Isaiah and Elizabeth Oyedijo. When he was just one year old, he and his mother relocated to Brooklyn, NY to join his father. Dot was the oldest of five children. His sisters, Oyenike Kilanko (Taiwo), Bola, Mary, and his brother James will miss him dearly.
Dot was a devoted husband, father, son, sibling, friend and family member. He was also a respected physician who dedicated the last 26 years of his life to caring for others as a radiation oncologist. He had a generous nature, always putting the needs of others above his own, and in doing so, touched countless lives with his warmth and kindness both personally and professionally.
He will forever be remembered by his family and friends for his gentle demeanor, thoughtful approach, and subtle sense of humor which presented itself brilliantly when you least expected it. Dot loved comic books, Wordle, Dad jokes, the New York Yankees, and University of Michigan sports, but nothing brought him greater joy than being a father. Most weekends you could find him poolside, proudly officiating swim meets and cheering on his sons. He lovingly referred to his family as "D.A.R.T."— his favorite four-letter word.
A true blue Michigan Wolverine, Dot earned both his undergraduate and medical degrees in Ann Arbor. He married the love of his life, Traci Frost, on September 30, 2005 in Chicago, and they welcomed two sons Andrew (19) and Ryan (17), who were the absolute joy of his life.
Dot is survived by Traci, Andrew and Ryan as well as his beloved mother Elizabeth, his siblings and his sisters-in-law, Kim Frost (Joe Ferrell), Jaime Trachtenberg (Marc) and Lizzy Frost (Faris Murad). Dot was the cherished son-in-law of Mike and Joan Frost and the proud uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his adored father, Isaiah, whom he now joins in heaven.
