Dorothy's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dorothy Watson, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Dorothy was born on June 3, 1943, and sadly left us on April 21, 2024.
Dorothy lived a life full of love, joy, and laughter. Her greatest loves were her family and her friends, who were like family to her. She is survived by her son, Robert Hobbs, her daughter, Laura Phillips, and her grandchildren Katelyn Hobbs, Amanda Middlehurst, and Kyle Phillips. Dorothy truly cherished her role as a grandmother and great grandmother, leaving behind a rich tapestry of memories to be cherished.
Her home was a hub of life and activity, filled with the smell of her baking, the sound of laughter, and the beauty of her beloved garden. These were just some of her favorite pastimes that she filled her life with, leaving behind not only physical memorabilia but also lessons and values that will be carried forward.
Dorothy's mantra in life was simple yet profound. "Be kind to others" she would often say, a lesson she lived by and shared with those around her. It was this kindness and warmth that made her home a welcoming place, and her company sought after.
Her life's journey was a testament to her strength, resilience, and unfaltering love for her family. She embodied the spirit of a matriarch, her legacy living on in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held for Dorothy on April 25, 2024, at 4:00 PM at Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home. As we remember her, let us carry forward her teachings of love, kindness, and the simple joys of life, honouring her memory in our daily actions.
While we mourn Dorothy's loss, we also celebrate her life, her achievements, and her enduring love. We thank her for the lessons she imparted, the love she had given, and the wonderful memories she leaves behind. She will be greatly missed, but her memory will live on in our hearts forever.
