Dorothy Lee “Dotty” Dodge Stroech (b. September 12, 1954 – d. June 10, 2023). Dorothy Stroech passed away on June 10, 2023 in Brookshire, Texas with her family by her side. Dorothy was born on the 12th of September 1954 outside of Munich in Furstenfeldbruck, Germany and spent most of her childhood in Texarkana, Texas. After graduating with accolades from Texas High School in 1972, Dorothy attended the University of Texas at Arlington, where she was an active member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree with honors in Elementary Education and Speech Communications. Dorothy went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Mid-Management Administration along with additional certifications in Supervision and Curriculum Instruction from Texas A & M University Corpus Christi. Dorothy had extensive experience working in many roles within the Texas public school system, beginning as a teacher in Elementary Education and Middle School Computer Literacy, then progressing to Director of Instructional Technology at Kingsville ISD. Her career culminated with her position as Assistant Elementary School Principal at Klein ISD.
Dorothy was an understanding, fun-loving, and optimistic mother, partner and friend. Her enthusiasm extended to many interests including many creative endeavors and tending to her rose garden, yet most of all her dedication to her family. Dorothy was a devoted Christian and her strong faith in Jesus was a fixture in her life. Dorothy’s love for Glen and Megan knew no boundaries—as well as her devotion to their beloved pets throughout the years: Bella the shih tzu, Buster the beagle, Orange Kitty and Kitty.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her father Leonard Thomas Dodge Sr., mother Jerry Lynn Dodge Smith, stepfather Ben Logan Smith and Brother, Leonard Thomas Dodge Jr. She is survived by husband Glen Stroech and daughter Megan Lynn Stroech Dominguez and son-in-law David Dominguez as well as sister Tommy Lynn Adams, niece Tammy Deaton, great niece Summer Deaton Quevedo and great nephew Drew Deaton.
A memorial service honoring Dorothy’s life will be held June 15, 2023 at St. Peter’s United Methodist Church at 20775 Kingsland Boulevard in Katy, Texas at 10:00am.
