Dorothy's obituary

It’s with great sadness that I announce the death of my mom today. Dorothy was amazing person to those who knew her. She danced to the Jitterbug at the clubs in New York during the war. My dad called her the “Original Hippie”! She worked the US Navy department as a civilian and was given a medal for her service. She later worked for Eleanor Rubenstein of the cosmetics company Max Factor.

She moved to Cape Breton in the mid fifties to marry my dad, George Henry and settled down in Pleasant Hill. Spent some time in New Brunswick with the Irvings in Rothesay.

Mom made the big move to Vancouver BC in the early nineties before settling down in Victoria. She was fond of her family. She loved Celtic music and I had been to a few concerts with her over the years.

We will miss her dearly.

“I hope to see my Pilot face to face, when I have crossed the bar.”
