Dorothy's obituary
Dorothy “Lily” Daniels, 86, went home to Jesus on September 28, 2025. Born on April 24, 1939, in Birmingham, Alabama, to Thomas “T.J.” and Sarah Mae Daniel, Dorothy lived a life defined by faith, family, and love.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she married her beloved husband, Henry Lee Daniels, in 1959. Together they raised two children, Patrice Moore and Leonard “Lenny” Daniels, and built a warm and welcoming home in Atlanta, Georgia.
Dorothy was a lifelong member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and volunteered with the Women’s Ministry. She was known for her kind heart, her famous homemade rolls, and her ability to make everyone feel like family.
She joins her husband, Henry Lee; her parents, T.J. and Sarah Mae; her sister, Margaret “Maggie” Fields; and her brother, Robert Earl Daniel, in Heaven. She is survived by her children, Patrice Moore and Leonard Daniels; her granddaughter, Kamora Scott; her grandson, Michael DeShawn Daniels; her sister, Evelyn Turner; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
