Dorothy's obituary
We deeply regret to inform of the passing of Dorothy "Mrs Dot" Clayton, born in 1958 and departed from us on February 5, 2025. Dorothy was a cherished mother, a faithful churchgoer, and a profound inspiration to many. She touched countless lives with her kindness, gentleness, and unwavering care.
Known also as Mrs Dot, Dorothy held a strong preference for her given name. Her personality was a beacon of light, characterized as loving, inspirational, kind, gentle, and caring. She was a believer in placing God first in all aspects of life, a lesson she enthusiastically shared with those around her.
Dorothy leaves behind a beautiful legacy of kindness and gratitude. As a Youth Minister for over a decade, she positively influenced the lives of countless young people, helping guide them on their spiritual journeys. This accomplishment was one of many in her life and it proudly stands as a testament to her unwavering resolve in serving her community.
Dorothy is survived by her loving children: daughters Anitra Clayton, Jessica Lawrence, Latarsha Thames, and sons Patrick and Cleveland Thames. Her memory will also be cherished by all who were fortunate to know her. She was predeceased by her husband, James Clayton, and her sons Jeremy Clayton and James Thames.
A funeral service in honor of Dorothy will be held on February 22, 2025 at 11:00 AM in Newton. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of this extraordinary woman.
