Mrs. Dorothy Anna “Dot” Dowdy Galbreath, age 98, of Vidalia died Sunday, February 18, 2024, at The Oaks Bethany in Vidalia after a brief illness.  She was a homemaker and the oldest living member of the New Corinth Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, I.D Galbreath; parents, Marvin Dowdy and Mabel Polk Dowdy; and daughter-in-law, Dianne Galbreath.

She is survived by sons, Hugh Galbreath, Ike Galbreath and wife Frankie, and David Galbreath; daughter, Kathy Lynn; grandchildren, Allen Lynn and wife Sun-A Lee, Ashley Lynn and Kimberly Galbreath, Joshua Galbreath, Brittany Galbreath and Katy Galbreath, along with five great-grandchildren;  two sisters, Pat Hahn and Jewel Horne also survive along with her beloved friends and family at The Oaks Bethany in Vidalia; and favorite cousin Owen O’Conner.               

A memorial service will be held Saturday morning, February 24, 2024 at 11:00 at the New Corinth Baptist Church with inurnment at the Galbreath Family Cemetery.  Lunch and visitation will follow the service in the church social hall.
