Doris's obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doris Wooldridge on November 13, 2024. Born in 1927, Doris lived an enriching life filled with love, kindness, and unforgettable moments. She was a beacon of joy, bringing warmth and happiness to all those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Doris devoted much of her life to a meaningful career as a nurse, caring for others with the same kindness and compassion she showed to her family and friends. Her gentle touch and unwavering dedication made her a source of comfort and hope to countless patients and colleagues.

Endearing herself as a soft, caring, kind, and sweet spirit, Doris was cherished deeply by her family and friends. She taught the world around her to be patient, to be good, and to tirelessly strive for the best things in life. These precious lessons she imparted will continue to live on in the hearts of those she left behind.

Unwavering in her faith, Doris was a devout attendee of the Lutheran Church of Our Saviour. Her devotion to her faith was a testament to her character and values. Her spirituality was a guiding light throughout her life, propelling her to not only believe in the good in the world but also to actively sow seeds of kindness and love.

Doris embraced life to the fullest, pursuing hobbies that brought her joy and fostered connections. She was an avid golfer with her husband, indulging in the sport for their retired years. She combined her passion for golf with a desire to make a difference by hosting numerous fundraising tournaments in support of breast cancer research. She also delighted in playing bridge, a pastime she enjoyed with the same competitive spirit and camaraderie that defined her approach to golf. Her and her husband hosted countless late night games with groups of their friends.

Doris leaves behind a legacy of strength, resilience, and family values. She was the cornerstone of her family, providing stability and abundant love. She is survived by her son Bob Wooldridge, daughter-in-law Missy Wooldridge, granddaughters Rachel Glazener, Rebekah Glazener, Ivy Lamb, and India Lamb. Sadly, she was predeceased by her beloved husband and forever golf partner, Robert Wooldridge, and her daughter, Joan Koob.

In honor of her memory, let us continue to uphold Doris's values of kindness, patience, and goodness. Her spirit will forever remain in our hearts. Doris Wooldridge was not just a name but an inspiration for all, and she will be deeply missed.
