Doris's obituary

Doris Alicia Rivera was born August 12, 1951 in Miami Florida. She peacefully moved on to a new life on April 7, 2025 with her loving family by her side in Riverview Florida at the young age of 72.  

Doris was born in Miami Florida and grew up on the Eastside of Cleveland, Ohio. Doris worked for Premier Industries for 35 years until she retired. Doris loved her kids, granddaughters, her great granddaughter and her extended large family. Family was so important to Doris and we have so many happy memories that we can all be grateful for.

Doris was always so happy from spending time with family and friends. She especially enjoyed maintaining her closeness with us all by talking on Facetime and always enjoyed coming for visits to Ohio be it for a wedding, graduation or baby shower. She did not want to miss any special occasions . She always showed up for each of us. Doris was a woman of great Character. She was a strong, resilient, beautiful, classy, grace filled woman with the most caring heart. She was a kind mother, daughter, sister and friend who loved her kids, family and friends with all that she had. Doris was a survivor who never allowed life to take her down, despite the hurdles she faced, Doris always persevered in every way to create a life for herself and her family that made her happy and so proud. She was true to herself and those that she was friends with. She brought her upbeat energy, joy, positivity and happiness to all who had the honor of knowing her. Doris will be missed dearly by all of those that had the privilege of receiving her love.

Doris was preceded in life by her mother Eugenia Rivera and her father Felipe Gonzalez. Doris is survived by her son, Jose Crespo Jr. (Maria), her daughter Magdaelena Crespo, (Mike) and her ex husband, Jose Manual Crespo Sr. Brothers Raymond Rivera, (Maggie) Jose Rivera, and her sisters Maria Gonzalez, (Ismael) and Carmen Nieves. Doris had 8 granddaughters Justine Crespo, Jasmine Lonergan, Desirae Crespo, Sadie Massa ,Brianna Crespo, Isabella Massa and Katherine Hageman and 1 great granddaughter, Evelyn Jude Lonergan. Doris was an aunt and great-aunt to more than 50 nieces and nephews and a friend to so many more.

A mass for the Blessing of the Ashes of Doris Alicia Rivera will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025 at 10:00 am at St. Rocco's Church located at 3205 Fulton Rd. Cleveland, Ohio 44109. Interment will immediately follow at Riverside Cemetery located at 3607 Pearl Rd., Cleveland, Ohio 44109 at approximately 1130 am.
