Doris's obituary

RECORD, Doris E. (82) of Umpqua, Oregon, passed away on July 1, 2023. She was born in Asheville, North Carolina, on May 15, 1941, the daughter of Henry Edward Cagle and Julie Bernice Duke. Doris was raised by her mother and stepfather, Richard C. “Dick” Briggs, in North Carolina and Maryland. She moved west to California and finally settled in Douglas County, Oregon. An avid golfer and gracious homemaker, Doris was a member of the Roseburg Country Club and active in both the Family Church and St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sutherlin, Oregon.

She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Jack L. Record of Umpqua; a brother, Richard D. Briggs (Nancy) of Longs, South Carolina; her son, Terry Lee Godwin of Roseville, California; three stepchildren, Jeff Record (Nancy) of Lincoln, California, Darla Record (Greg Barclay) of Bahia de Los Angeles, Mexico, and Wendi Record (Doug Rush) of Millcreek, Utah; grandchildren Justin Record (Melissa), Jennifer Record, Jacquie Attardo (Steffan), Rachel DuBruyne (Matt Cirne), Chas Davis, Harrison Davis (Mikenna), Madysen Davis (Josh); and great-grandchildren Josselin Record, Jillian Record, Rowan Yeager, and Miles Cirne. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Todd and Gina Record for their help and support, and to Heather Gilbert and Wilson’s Chapel of the Roses for their kind assistance with the arrangements.

No services will be held. Final interment will be at Paola, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for any donation amount to be sent to the Alzheimer's Association.
