Doris's obituary

Doris Dianne McCOY (nee Silbernagel) | May 3, 1954 – January 18, 2023

With sorrow we announce the passing of our mother, Doris McCoy, on January 18, 2023, at her home in Lindsay, Oklahoma after a short and brave battle with cancer. Doris was born in Regina, SK on May 3, 1954. During the course of her life, some of Doris's favourite activities were horseback riding, relaxing at the family cottage on Last Mountain Lake, and traveling to see new places throughout Canada and the United States. Her creative talent shone through her poetry writing, beadworking, cross-stitching and embroidery. Doris had a real compassionate heart for animals, taking in and caring for countless animals in need throughout her life. She was predeceased by her parents, Emil and Margaret Strasser. She is survived by her husband, Ed McCoy; children, Adrian Hayden, Clifford (Laura) Hayden, and Elaine (Adam) Hayden-Booker; step-children, Brian McCoy and John (Jackie) McCoy; grandchildren, Tony Wilm, Caitlin Hayden, Cori Hayden, Devon Yanoshewski, Howl Hayden, Brittany Hayden, Courtney Schrader, Skye Schrader and James McCoy; eight great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Elnora Lamb, Eric Silbernagel, Irene Piva, Ken Strasser, and Sandy Pasker. A celebration of Doris's life will be held in Regina during the spring for family and friends, followed by a private scattering of ashes.
