A "Tribute" to Doris Lee Ford

October 26th, 1928 - October 12th, 2025

On October 12th, 2025, the world lost a bright light. Doris Lee Ford, a devoted mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, has passed away at the age of ninety-six. Doris was a faithful member of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church where she volunteered her time in any way that aided others. Her legacy of kindness and laughter will live on in all those who knew and loved her.

Doris was born in a small town in Missouri on Friday, October 26th, 1928. She was the only child of deceased parents. She met and married her husband in Missouri. They moved to California where Doris was a busy mother of three. That’s where she was hired by Vogue, becoming a professional model. After raising her three children, Doris moved to Kirkland, WA, where she had a career teaching computer science, providing education to companies around the US.

When retirement came, Doris became a humanitarian, helping others in need. She traveled the world to learn about other cultures. She was on the Board of Directors of Evergreen Hospital and volunteered at Evergreen Health Hospice for many years. Doris has shown her light over all those that knew her and we still live in her afterglow.
