Doris's obituary
Doris (Bennett) Williams was born on April 20, 1952, in Wadesboro, NC. She died peacefully, in her sleep, at INOVA Alexandria Hospital on Saturday, May 4th, 2024, at 7:14 am. She was the daughter of the late Isaiah and Jestine (Caraway) Bennett. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Benjamin and Richard Bennett, and three sisters: Valeria (Bennett) Weathers, Fannie E. Bennett and Vivian O. Bennett. She is survived by two brothers: James and Joseph Bennett, and one sister Evelyn (Bennett) McNeil. She is also survived by two sons: Treavor R. Williams and Sean. D. Bennett Sr.; four grandchildren: Janetta J. Bennett, Amaya C. Bennett, Sean D. Bennett Jr., and Aubreigh M. Bennett; two aunts: Ophelia Cowan and Myrtle C. Bailey, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
She received her secular education at Bowan High School in Anson County, North Carolina. She graduated from Livingstone State College with a B.S. degree in Business Administration.
Doris married Roy H. Williams in December of 1974. They moved to Raleigh, NC, in 1979, where she worked a host of different jobs before getting a divorce in 1988 and moving to the DC area in 1990. She settled in Springfield, VA.
Doris was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in April of 1994. She attended the North Springfield, DC Sign Language, and Mount Vernon congregations. She was a full-time pioneer for 25 years. Doris enjoyed her ministry and service to Jehovah.
Doris loved people, especially children, and many people said she made a big impact on their lives.
