Our Grandmother Sarah Tinson

I can still vividly remember that summer's day in 1958, anxiously awaiting 5 year old Doreen's arrival from the airport in London, coming from Jamaica, to join her parents with her other siblings.
Her eldest sister and I, being fast friends, had made that trip as young children two years prior, and so my 65+ year friendship began with me, considering her as my "little sister" also.
Alzheimer's interrupted that friendship in her latter years, but she still remained "Dors" to me, a devoted friend, excellent mother and grandmother, who was dedicated to whomever, or whatever she took on.
She's now gone, but have left me and my family with endless memories (from England to the U.S.A.), which all began those many years ago, waiting on the sidewalk of Caledonian Road, outside her then new home, in North London for her arrival.
Today, I am responding to her departure, and saying farewell to my "Dearest Beloved Dors" ... Rest in Perpetual Peace Dear Friend.
CONDOLENCES to the entire family, from Ally and the Birch family.
