Dora's obituary
Miss Dora Vonnell Thigpen, age 84 of Vidalia, died Thursday, December 15, 2011 in Oxley Park Health and Rehabilitation in Lyons after an extended illness. She was a native of Toombs County, living in Atlanta most of her life where she was employed with Kemper Insurance Company and Macy’s Department Store. She returned home several years ago, and was Baptist by faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mack Hilton Thigpen and Mary Mazema Page Thigpen; six siblings, Bronson Thigpen, Bomar Thigpin, Maudie Cowart, Brooks Thigpen, Celeste Champion, and Cecile Nichols.
Miss Thigpen is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside memorial service will be held Monday, December 19th at 3:00 pm in the Pinecrest Cemetery with Reverend Chester Procter and Vickie Kramer officiating.
