Dora's obituary

Dora T. Taylor, a resident of her beloved community in Altgeld Gardens, passed away on November 1, 2023, in her cherished city of Chicago. She was 66 years old.

Born on October 1, 1957, in Doddsville, MS, Dora's journey through life was marked by her unique talents and unwavering dedication to her family, friends, and community. 

Dora was a woman of many passions, and she found joy in a variety of  activities. She was known for her love of the lottery and bingo (spending many hours engaged in this delightful game), and her exceptional crocheting skills which allowed her to create beautiful pieces that she generously shared with loved ones. Her strong faith in the Lord was another cornerstone of her life, guiding her through both good times and challenging moments.

Dora's true legacy lies in the kindness and compassion she offered to those around her. She was a dedicated volunteer, always eager to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her commitment to making the world a better place left an indelible mark on the hearts of everyone she touched.

Dora is preceded in death by her husband Larnell “Peter” Taylor.

Dora is survived her loving daughters, Melisa Tankersley and Lynetta Taylor. She is also survived by her devoted sisters, Gracie Miller, Sandra Lee, and Bonnie Lee. Dora leaves behind a legacy that will be carried on by her adoring grandchildren, Darshay Holloway, Daysha Holloway, Daisean Taylor, and Dream Taylor – Lorenzo.

Dora's passing is deeply mourned by her family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her absence will be keenly felt, and her warmth, kindness, and talents will be remembered with great affection. 

AquaGreen Dispositions, 708-606-0211, will be overseeing the arrangements for Dora T. Taylor's final farewell. The details of her memorial service will be announced soon, allowing those who loved her to come together and celebrate the remarkable life she lived.

Dora T. Taylor's memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the honor of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace.
