Dora Raphael passed away on February 14, 2022 suddenly. She was born on September 22 1932 at Lucerne Switzerland to Joseph and Marie Meyer-Moser.

Mourned by Gloria Rubaine (daughter) Jeff Rubaine (grand son), Gabrielle Rubaine (grand daughter) Walter Rubaine (Son in law) Aidan and Quintyn (great grandsons) Maya Fuchs (Sister) Irene Koehler (Sister), pre-deceased by her son (Joseph Raphael), pre-deceased by her brother (Rene Meyer) and widow of Roy Raphael (husband). Her many nieces and nephews from the Meyer clan are saddened by her passing. She will also be missed by Victoria and Caroline, her nurses and staff at Chester Village in Toronto.

Dora worked for Manulife as a forms analyst in her earlier years but she was a true artist and had a special talent working in pencils, acrylics and oils. She left behind a lifetime of paintings with both whimsical and natural themes. She was also an avid gardener and in her later years, taught gardening and growing classes to the children at the Bain Avenue Co-Operative, of which she was a founding member and where she helped pioneer community housing for Toronto’s poor.

As a mother, sister, grandparent and aunt, she had a kind and thoughtful approach, full of understanding and empathy. Her spirit lives on.
