DONNY's obituary

Donny Lee McBee, Jr. died unexpectedly on April 16, 2021 in Springfield, Missouri. at the age of 43. He is the son of Don and Vickie McBee of Bolivar, MO. He was born on November 10, 1977 at the Baptist Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

Lee, as he was affectionately called by his parents and people who knew him as well, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 7. The disease had taken a toll on him and in the past 2 years he was on dialysis due to stage 5 kidney failure.

Donny enjoyed the simple things in life. He had a passion for cars especially older model cars and Cadillac Escalades. He was a true Ford lover. He enjoyed cooking, auctions, watching football and hockey. His passion for animals was shown by his love for his fur baby Boo who had passed away at the age of 15 in 2020.

Donny is survived by his wife, Shelly of the home, his parents, Don and Vickie of Bolivar, MO, brothers Ken McBee and wife Andrea of Belvedere, IL and Jeff McBee and wife Tammy of Stillman Valley, IL. , his grandmother Ira Lee McBee of Iuka, MS, an aunt, Judy Sumonja of Iuka, MS, 3 uncles, Larry Robinson of Springfield, MO and Michael Robinson of Branson, MO, Jack McBee and wife Martha of Iuka, MS, several cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his fraternal grandfather, Burvil McBee of Iuka, MS and his maternal grandparents, Laddie and Josephine Robinson of Pine Bluff, AR.

Donny "Lee" was the light of so many lives. He was the smile that made a bad day good; a laugh that made a troubled heart smile and a kindness through a heart of pure gold he willingly gave to all. He never met a stranger. He will always be loved dearly and missed terribly until we meet once again.

Don’t think of him as gone away
his journey’s just begun,
life holds so many facets
this earth is only one.

Just think of him as resting
from the sorrows and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years.

Think how he must be wishing
that we could know today
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away.

And think of him as living
in the hearts of those he touched…
for nothing loved is ever lost
and he was loved so much.
