Donald “Donnie” Wayne Cherry, age 58 of Crest Hill, formerly of Plainfield, IL, passed away peacefully, Monday, October 4, 2021 at his home. Donnie was born September 28, 1963 in Joliet, IL to his loving parents, Judy and the late Lawrence “Skip” Cherry. Beloved and devoted dad of A.J. and Sissy Cherry. Caring former spouse to the mother of his children, Susie Cherry. Loving brother Glenn (Pamela) Cherry, Lori (Rich) Marcinowski, Bill Cherry, and Sarah (Jim) Griffin. Dear nephew of many aunts and uncles and dearest uncle of many nieces and nephews. Long-time best friend of Jason “Jammer” Montgomery. Donnie attended Plainfield Community High School and graduated the class of 1981. Don spent over 40 years as a land surveyor, 33 years as a dedicated employee of GeoTech Inc. of Crest Hill, IL. Donnie loved fishing and watching sports, especially football. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the future education fund for his daughter, Daniele would be appreciated. Visitation: Monday, October 11th 4:00-8:00 PM at Overman-Jones Funeral Home, 15219 S. Joliet Rd., Plainfield, IL 60544. Funeral Service: Tuesday, October 12th 10:30 AM at the funeral home.
