Donna's obituary

Donna P.  Miles (Taylor), 82, passed away December 30th after a 7 year battle with MDS. She is the fourth of six children born to Paul and Martha Taylor in Fromberg, Montana. She moved to the LC Valley as a teen and graduated LHS in 1959. Her adventures took her to San Francisco where she lived for 2 decades, established her career in banking, made many life-long friends and started her own family.

Donna returned to the LC Valley in the early 80’s. She continued her career with local banks and was known for her smile, her kindness, her love of life. She was active in her community, believing that to whom much is given, much is expected. She enjoyed 26 years of marriage with her husband, Thomas C. Miles. The two of them put many miles on “Big Red” the truck that pulled their 5th wheel all around the United States. They spent many summers on Dworshak catching their daily limit of kokanee.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Ruth, Nadine, Marlene, Robert and Julie, and her beloved husband Tom. Many friends have gone on as well, she is reunited with Jackie, Shirley and Barbara. Donna is survived by her daughter Julie Marlene (Michael), Savannah, GA, three grandchildren Bailey Donna (Morgan), Chicago, IL, Christian Gabriel (Ashlin), Portland, OR and Aiden Janelle, Savannah, GA. She was part of a dynamic duo, a special “sister of my heart” sisterhood with Mrs. Vivian Piatt (George), the two of them sharing life’s celebrations and challenges together.

Donna was a faith filled believer and follower of Jesus. She knew that love and forgiveness could solve most problems. In her formative years, she was a lieutenant in the Salvation Army; she did her part to share the good Word. She loved football and was a 49ers fan dating back to Kezar Stadium. She pulled for Gonzaga and was a budding UGA fan too, GO DAWGS. Donna was FUN, she laughed often and delighted in spending time with friends and family. She impacted the lives of many and left us with beautiful memories and instructions to carry her love forward.

Donations can be made to The Salvation Army and/or the Shriners Hospital for Children.

A celebration of Donna’s wonderful life will be held on Sunday, January 28th at 12 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Club, 505 Maple St, Clarkston, WA 99403 Her remains will go home to Montana at a later date.
