Donata
I'm so sorry everything you've gone through. We were trying to help you to where you wanted to be. We have comfort knowing your not suffering anymore. Rest in Paradise.
You were a vibrant, trendy, young at heart woman that made people feel loved and welcomed.
I was never a fan of meatloaf until I had yours. Oh what I'd do for a piece of your meatloaf. Your spaghetti was absolutely amazing. You may not be here physically, but we keep your memories alive.
Please give Chad a hug!
Love,
Kim

I first met you through your granddaughter, little Donota, back when I was living in Chicago. I will never forget the incredible spaghetti you made; it’s a memory that’s stayed with me ever since.
My heartfelt condolences to little Donota and her family.
Sincerely,
Ron Rose

Grama, this has been an utterly heartbreaking time. I wish certain family members had treated you as the human you were — not as an object or a possession. You told me so many times how safe and happy you felt with Uncle Doug, and being so far away in California made me feel helpless. But I’m grateful we talked every day, and I will cherish every childhood memory and every moment we shared.
I’m so proud to be your namesake. I’ll keep everything you gave me and hold it close forever. You made the best food, the best pound cakes, and the most beautiful, artistic birthday cakes — all from scratch. We were so lucky to have that kind of love.
One of my most cherished memories is sitting on your bed, staying as still as I could, watching you put on your makeup with that gorgeous beige makeup case. I loved the smell when you opened it — the loose powder, the way you moved so artistically, and how I always knew you were almost done when you added your signature beauty mark.
This hurts in a way I’ve never felt before. It’s a grief I’ve never experienced. I love you and miss you always.
Forever your only granddaughter and namesake,
Love always & forever,
Donota Falakos XOXOOX

Mom,
I grew up cooking with you in the kitchen, and I’m so proud to have learned your secret recipes—something I can now pass on to those who truly appreciate them. I’m grateful that you felt safe and loved when you were in my care, and I did everything I could for you. Thank you for all you’ve done for me. The kitchen will never feel the same without you. Please give Dad a hug for me.
Love always,
Your son,
Douglas Raebig

Mom,
This has been such a heartbreaking situation, and I wish I could have been there with you. There were so many obstacles that kept me from being by your side, but you knew the truth, and I’m grateful for that. Thank you for everything you did for me and my children. Give grandpa a big hug from all of us.
I love you, Mom. You will always be a part of me.
Love and miss you always,
Diana Lee Tapper

Gramma,
You were so beautiful, patient, kind, and truly the best cook. I always admired how you formed your own opinions about people and stayed neutral and fair. I will miss you deeply.
With love,
Your great‑grandson,
Marlon Gaines
