Donald Lee Reynolds, Sr.
DEVOTED HUSBAND, FATHER, MAN OF FAITH
Donald Lee Reynolds, known to many as Don, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2023, in Penney Farms, Florida. He was born on March 23, 1931, in Scheller, Illinois, to the late William Clifford Reynolds and Mildred Marie Reynolds. Don was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a respected member of the community.
Don was a godly man who dedicated his life to the ministry. He served as a Minister of the Word and Minister of Music, spreading the message of faith and love. He was also a skilled craftsman, known for his ability to build and repair homes, engines, and motors. Don's passion for his work was evident in every project he undertook.
In addition to his ministry and craftsmanship, Don had a distinguished military career. He proudly served in the Navy for four years, demonstrating his commitment to his country and his fellow service members. Don's educational achievements were notable as well. He graduated as the valedictorian of his high school and went on to earn degrees in Business and Ministry.
Don will be deeply missed by his surviving children: Teryl Wheeler (Bruce), Deena Sjoberg (Bob), Timothy Reynolds (Denna), and Jodee White (Bob). He is also survived by his sisters, Judy Alamat and Bobbi Baldwin. Don was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gwendolyn Ponce Reynolds, his son Donald Lee Reynolds II, his sisters Betty, Doris, Becky, and Patricia, as well as his parents.
Don's faith played an important role in his life, and he found solace and community at the Nazarene Church and the Church of God.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate Don's life will be held at Penney Farms Memorial Church, located at 4465 Poling Blvd., P.O. BOX 354, Penney Farms, FL, 32079, on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at 10 am. The compassionate staff at Penney Farms Memorial Church is assisting the family with the arrangements during this difficult time.
Don's legacy as a devoted minister, skilled craftsman, and dedicated family man will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved him. He leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories and a lasting impact on all those whose lives he touched.
