Don's obituary
Donald Raymond Ward, 78, of Hudson, Florida, departed us in the morning hours of Sunday, March 15, 2026. Don was Canadian, born and raised in Ontario, Canada, by his late mother and father, Gertrude Florence Ward (Williams) and Emerson John Ward. He is survived by his daughter, Aleshia Ward, grand-daughter Naomi Owallah, brother, Gregory Ward (Judy Ward) and two step-children, Timothy Koutsis and Nickoletta Koutsis. Don is preceded by his brother Eric Ward of Nova Scotia, Canada.
As a young boy, Don was always eager to explore and gravitated toward knowledge beyond him and his immediate life. In his late-teen years, he found his way to the “states” and made the U.S. his home. Don made a career of being an accomplished union carpenter, namely as a scaffold builder, and was never far from a horse farm or track, either for work or pleasure – this was truly one of his happy places.
Don was never the one to follow pomp and circumstance or political norms, and those who knew him even for a brief passing would know this to be evident. He spent his life on a quest for knowledge to understand and become more aware of some of the greater mysteries of this life and beyond. While he was fulfilled in his journey, sharing his knowledge to help others is what truly brought him joy.
Those who had met him or shared ideals and research with him would attest to his dedication to exploring the unknown and his pure appreciation for the fabric that twines this life.
May his spirit be free.
May he gallop among the stars.
